Monday, August 19

  • Check-In and Registration at Courtyard by Marriot Corvallis, 400 SW 1ST Street, Corvallis OR

  • Welcome Reception and Cocktail Hour with light hors d'oeuvres. 

  • People may head out to dinner after if they wish (there are several restaurants within walking distance of the hotel)

Tuesday, August 20

  • Breakfast at the Hotel 

  • Tour of Oregon State University, including trial grounds, honeybee program, seed lab, and possibly information on the brewmaster and winemaking degree. 

  • Lunch at Wild West Seed hosted by John and family

  • Take a tour of the HGSA trials at Wild West Seed (or have a beer or two on John) 

  • Schriner’s Iris tour – “Remaining a centerpiece of the Schreiner’s enterprise to this day is its stunning 10-acre display garden. Fully developed in the 1990’s, the display garden sits atop the original Schreiner parcel first purchased in 1947.”

  • Dinner with Peers in Corvallis

Wednesday, August 21

  • Breakfast and Roundtable Discussions at the hotel. 

  • Tour Triangle farms, which is “a 6th generation family farm and one of the most diverse farms on the West Coast of the United States. They produce turf, forage and native grass seeds as well as legume, native, wildflower, forbs, garden flower, herb, cover crops and pollinator seeds for wholesale and government agencies throughout the world.”

  • Lunch

  • Smith Seed tour – “We produce seed. We package seed. We coat seed. We breed seed. We haul and store seed. We integrate the many facets of seed production, distribution, and marketing with an array of complementary services including coating, private label packaging, shipping, contract production and product licensing.”

  • Tour Chickadee Farm – “Chickadee Farm is a certified organic family farm specializing in growing high quality vegetable and flower seed. Located in Dayton, Oregon, Chickadee Farm was started in 1998 by owners and managers Sebastian Aguilar and Kelly Gelino.”

  • Closing Banquet at local winery
